- Restore Power: Once the lamp is securely installed, restore power to the fixture at the circuit breaker.
- Test: Turn on the light switch to confirm the lamp is functioning correctly.
Note: This lamp requires a compatible electronic or dimming ballast for proper operation. Consult your fixture's specifications if unsure.
5. Operating Instructions
The Sylvania 20314 CFL operates like a standard light bulb once installed in a compatible fixture.
- Turning On/Off: Use the wall switch or fixture control to turn the light on or off.
- Warm-up Time: Like most CFLs, this lamp may require a short warm-up period (typically a few seconds to a minute) to reach full brightness and color stability, especially in colder environments.
- Dimming: If installed in a fixture with a compatible dimming ballast, the lamp's brightness can be adjusted using the dimmer control. Ensure the dimmer is rated for CFLs.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Ensure the lamp is cool and the power is off before cleaning. Wipe the glass tube gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
