Operating Instructions

Cooking Rice

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided rice measuring cup to measure the desired amount of uncooked rice. For this model, 1.5 cups of uncooked rice yields 3 cups of cooked rice. Do not use a standard kitchen measuring cup, as it may result in incorrect water ratios and cooking outcomes.
  2. Rinse Rice: Rinse the rice under cold water in a separate bowl until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
  3. Add to Cooking Bowl: Place the rinsed rice into the removable nonstick cooking bowl.
  4. Add Water: Add the appropriate amount of water. A general guideline is 1:1 ratio for rice to water using the provided measuring cup (e.g., 1 cup rice to 1 cup water). Adjust water quantity based on rice type and desired consistency.
  5. Place Bowl in Unit: Insert the cooking bowl into the rice cooker base unit.
  6. Cover: Place the tempered glass lid securely on the cooking bowl.
  7. Plug In: Plug the rice cooker into a standard electrical outlet.
  8. Start Cooking: Push the control lever down to the "COOK" position. The "COOK" indicator light will illuminate.
  9. Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the unit will automatically switch to the "KEEP WARM" cycle, and the "KEEP WARM" indicator light will illuminate.
  10. Serve: Allow the rice to rest for 5-10 minutes on "KEEP WARM" before serving. This allows the rice to fully absorb moisture and become fluffier. Use the provided serving scoop to fluff and serve the rice.

Tips for Best Results

  • For firmer rice, use slightly less water. For softer rice, use slightly more water.
  • Avoid lifting the lid during the cooking cycle, as this releases steam and can affect cooking results.
  • The "KEEP WARM" function is designed to keep rice warm for a short period. Prolonged warming may dry out the rice.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your rice cooker.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the rice cooker from the outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wash Removable Parts: The nonstick cooking bowl, tempered glass lid, rice measuring cup, and serving scoop are dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads on the nonstick bowl to prevent damage.
  3. Clean Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the rice cooker base unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Dry Thoroughly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing the appliance.
