1. Product Overview

Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover spray paints offer superior coverage for faster project completion. They provide a tough, attractive finish on almost any interior/exterior surface. Designed with a comfort spray tip with a wider finger pad to reduce fatigue caused by continuous spraying. Convenient any angle spray applies easily leaving a rich, deep color that brings out the beauty in your project.

2. Safety Information

Always read and follow all instructions and warnings on the product label before use. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapors. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and a respirator if necessary.

First Aid:

• Eye Contact: Flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
• Skin Contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Get medical attention if irritation develops.
• Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention.
• Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.

3. Preparation

Proper surface preparation is crucial for optimal adhesion and finish quality.

Surface Preparation:

• Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of loose paint, rust, wax, oil, and grease.
• Lightly sand glossy surfaces to create a dull finish for better adhesion.
• For best results, use a primer on bare wood or metal, although Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover has built-in primer.

Environmental Conditions:

• Apply when temperature is between 50-90°F (10-32°C) and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper drying.
• Avoid spraying in windy conditions to prevent overspray.

Can Preparation:

• Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Continue to shake occasionally during use.

4. Application (Setup & Operating)

Achieve a smooth, even finish by following these application guidelines.

Spraying Technique:

• Hold can upright 10-12 inches from surface.
• Spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.
• Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart rather than one heavy coat to avoid drips and ensure even coverage.
• The comfort spray tip allows for easy application at any angle.

5. Drying & Curing

Allow adequate time for the paint to dry and fully cure for maximum durability.

• Touch Dry: 20 minutes.
• Handle: 1 hour.
• Full Cure: 24 hours.

Drying times may be affected by temperature, humidity, and film thickness.

6. Maintenance (Cleanup & Storage)

Proper cleanup and storage will extend the life of your spray paint can.

Nozzle Cleaning:

• To clear the spray valve, invert can and spray for 5 seconds or until only clear gas is emitted.

Storage:

• Store in a cool, dry place away from heat, sparks, and open flame.
• Do not store in direct sunlight.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues during application, consider the following common solutions:

• Uneven Spray/Sputtering: Ensure the can is thoroughly shaken before and during use. Maintain a consistent distance from the surface.
• Drips or Runs: Apply multiple thin coats instead of one thick coat. Ensure proper distance from the surface (10-12 inches).
• Poor Adhesion/Cracking: Verify that the surface was properly cleaned, dried, and prepared (e.g., sanded glossy surfaces). Ensure application in recommended temperature and humidity conditions.
• Color Discrepancy: Always shake the can well to ensure pigments are fully mixed. The color of the cap is a good indicator of the final color.
