Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to assemble your torchiere floor lamp.
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, flat surface. Retain packaging materials until assembly is complete.
- Attach Base to Bottom Pole: Screw the lowest pole section into the lamp base. Turn clockwise until securely tightened. Ensure the power cord passes freely through the center of the base.
- Connect Pole Sections: Screw the remaining pole sections together, one by one, in a clockwise direction. Ensure each section is fully tightened to create a stable pole. Guide the power cord through each section as you connect them.
- Attach Lamp Head/Socket: Screw the lamp head/socket assembly onto the top pole section. Ensure it is securely tightened. The rotary switch should be easily accessible.
- Install Shade: Place the plastic shade over the lamp head, resting it securely on the designated support ring or grooves.
- Insert Light Bulb: Screw a compatible light bulb (E26 Medium base, maximum 150W incandescent or 26W CFL) into the lamp socket. Do not overtighten.

Operating Instructions
To operate your Room Essentials Torchiere Floor Lamp:
- Connect to Power: Insert the power plug into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
- Turn On/Off: Locate the 3-way rotary switch on the lamp socket. Turn the switch clockwise to cycle through the light settings (low, medium, high, off).
- Bulb Compatibility: This lamp uses an E26 Medium base bulb. It supports incandescent bulbs up to 150 watts or CFL bulbs up to 26 watts. Using bulbs outside these specifications may damage the lamp or create a fire hazard.
Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your lamp.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the lamp before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the metal pole and base. For the plastic shade, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
- Bulb Replacement: Ensure the lamp is unplugged and the bulb has cooled completely before attempting to replace it. Unscrew the old bulb counter-clockwise and screw in a new E26 Medium base bulb, ensuring it meets the wattage requirements.
- Cord Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, such as fraying or cuts. If damage is found, discontinue use and contact customer support.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your lamp, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Lamp Does Not Turn On:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Check if the light bulb is securely screwed into the socket.
- Replace the light bulb with a new one to rule out a burnt-out bulb.
- Verify that the wall switch (if applicable) is in the ON position.
- Check your home's circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Light Flickers:
- Ensure the light bulb is screwed in tightly.
- Try a different light bulb to see if the issue is with the bulb itself.
- Check the electrical connection at the wall outlet.
- Lamp is Unstable:
- Ensure all pole sections and the base are securely tightened.
- Place the lamp on a flat, level surface.
