8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your RP155, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

  • No Sound:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the unit is powered on.
    • Check all audio cables for secure connections.
    • Verify the MASTER LEVEL knob is turned up.
    • Confirm the AMP/MIXER switch is set correctly for your output device.
    • If using headphones, ensure they are fully plugged in and the volume is adjusted.
  • Distorted or Unwanted Sound:
    • Check your guitar's volume and tone controls.
    • Adjust the input level on the RP155 (if available, or reduce guitar output).
    • Review the current preset's effect parameters, especially gain and distortion settings.
    • Ensure the AMP/MIXER switch is correctly set. Using 'MIXER' into a guitar amp can cause unwanted coloration.
  • USB Connection Issues:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected at both ends.
    • Verify that the correct USB drivers are installed on your computer. These can be found on the DigiTech support website.
    • Try a different USB port on your computer or a different USB cable.
    • Restart your computer and the RP155.
  • Footswitches Not Responding:
    • Ensure the unit is powered on.
    • If in a specific mode (e.g., Looper or Tuner), the footswitches may have different functions. Exit these modes to return to preset navigation.
