Safety Information
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this winch. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Personal Safety: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats when operating the winch.
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate the winch in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the specifications of the winch. Do not expose the winch to rain or wet conditions. Never operate the winch with a damaged cord or plug.
- Winch Use and Care: Do not overload the winch. Use the correct winch for your application. Do not use the winch if the switch does not turn it on and off. Keep hands and loose clothing away from moving parts.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the wire rope, hooks, and all components for wear, damage, or deformation before each use. Replace any damaged parts immediately.
Setup
- Mounting the Winch: Securely mount the winch to a stable and appropriate support structure capable of handling the maximum load. Ensure all mounting bolts are tightened to the specified torque.
- Connecting Power: Connect the power cord to a suitable single-phase 100V power outlet. Verify that the power supply meets the winch's requirements (10A, 870W).
- Wire Rope Inspection: Before first use, fully extend the wire rope and inspect it for any kinks, fraying, or damage. Ensure it is properly wound on the drum.
- Hook Attachment: Attach the load hook securely to the item to be lifted. Ensure the safety latch on the hook is properly closed.

Operation
The Kyocera WIM-125A winch is designed for efficient lifting operations. Follow these steps for safe and effective use:
- Power On: Ensure the winch is securely mounted and the load is properly attached. Turn on the power switch.
- Lifting the Load: Use the control switch to slowly lift the load. Monitor the load and the wire rope for any issues. The lifting speed is approximately 41 cm/s.
- Lowering the Load: Use the control switch to slowly lower the load. Maintain control and ensure the load descends smoothly.
- Automatic Stop: The winch features an automatic stop mechanism that activates when the wire rope reaches its upper or lower limit, preventing over-winding or over-extension.
- Emergency Stop: In case of an emergency, immediately press the emergency stop button on the control switch.
Important Operating Tips:
- Do not operate the winch if the wire rope is tangled or damaged.
- Avoid sudden starts and stops, which can put undue stress on the winch and load.
- Always keep a safe distance from the load during operation.
- Never leave the winch unattended while it is operating.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your winch.
- Regular Cleaning: Keep the winch clean and free from dust, dirt, and debris.
- Wire Rope Lubrication: Periodically lubricate the wire rope to prevent rust and wear. Use a suitable wire rope lubricant.
- Component Inspection: Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and connections for tightness. Inspect the motor, gears, and electrical components for any signs of wear or damage.
- Storage: When not in use, store the winch in a dry, clean place, protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Winch does not lift or lower. | Limit switch misaligned or wire rope tangled. | Refer to the troubleshooting video for adjusting the limit switch or untangling the wire rope. |
| Winch does not respond to controls. | Blown fuse. | Refer to the troubleshooting video for fuse replacement. Ensure the replacement fuse matches the original specifications. |
| Winch stops unexpectedly. | Overload or limit switch activated. | Reduce the load. Check if the limit switch is stuck or misaligned. Reset the winch if necessary. |
