Introduction
The GIVI E21 Cruiser Side Cases are designed to provide secure and convenient storage for motorcycle riders. These cases are intended for use as side cases only and feature a top-opening design. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your GIVI E21N side cases.
Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting to install or use the product. Retain this manual for future reference.
Safety Information
- Always ensure the side cases are securely mounted to the motorcycle's specific GIVI Monokey Side Rack before riding.
- Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 11 pounds (5 kg) per case. Overloading can affect motorcycle stability and handling.
- Distribute weight evenly within the cases to maintain motorcycle balance.
- Regularly check the mounting hardware for tightness and wear. Loose components can lead to detachment during operation.
- Be aware that adding side cases may alter the motorcycle's aerodynamics and overall width. Exercise caution, especially in windy conditions or when maneuvering in tight spaces.
Setup and Installation
The GIVI E21N side cases require a specific GIVI Monokey Side Rack (sold separately) for installation on your motorcycle. Refer to the installation instructions provided with your GIVI Monokey Side Rack for detailed, motorcycle-specific mounting procedures.
General Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Motorcycle: Ensure your GIVI Monokey Side Rack is correctly installed on your motorcycle according to its specific instructions.
- Attach the Cases: Align the mounting points on the back of the E21N side case with the corresponding points on the Monokey Side Rack. Press the case firmly onto the rack until you hear a 'click,' indicating it is securely latched.
- Verify Security: Gently pull on the case to ensure it is firmly attached and does not wobble.
- Lock the Cases: Use the provided key to lock the cases to the rack. This prevents accidental detachment and theft.

Operating Instructions
Opening and Closing the Cases:
- To Open: Insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it to the unlock position. Press the red release button (if applicable) or lift the lid directly. The E21N cases feature a top-opening design.
- To Close: Lower the lid until it clicks securely into place. Ensure the lid is fully sealed to protect contents from weather.
Locking and Unlocking:
- To Lock: With the case closed, turn the key to the lock position and remove it. This secures both the lid and the case to the rack.
- To Unlock: Insert the key and turn it to the unlock position. The lid can now be opened, and the case can be detached from the rack.
Detaching Cases from Motorcycle:
- Ensure the case is unlocked from the rack.
- Locate the release lever or button, typically near the lock mechanism on the case or rack.
- Activate the release mechanism while simultaneously lifting the case off the rack.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the cases regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
- Lock Mechanism: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the lock cylinder to ensure smooth operation. Avoid oil-based lubricants, which can attract dirt.
- Seals: Inspect the rubber seals around the lid for cracks or damage. Damaged seals can compromise the water resistance of the cases. Replace if necessary.
- Mounting Hardware: Regularly check all bolts and fasteners on the GIVI Monokey Side Rack and the case mounting points for tightness. Tighten any loose components to prevent vibration and potential detachment.
Troubleshooting
- Case difficult to attach to rack: Ensure the mounting points on the case and rack are clean and free of debris. Verify that the case is correctly aligned with the rack's attachment points. Do not force the case; re-align and try again.
- Case difficult to detach from rack: Ensure the lock is fully in the unlock position. Check that the release mechanism is fully engaged. If stiff, apply graphite lubricant to the lock.
- Lid not closing securely: Check for any obstructions preventing the lid from fully seating. Inspect the lid hinges and latch mechanism for damage or misalignment.
- Lock mechanism stiff or jammed: Apply graphite lubricant to the keyhole and work the key in and out several times. If the issue persists, contact GIVI support.
