Carefully remove the scale from its packaging. Inspect the scale for any signs of damage. If damaged, do not use and contact customer support.

2. Battery Installation

The Soehnle S63168 scale requires batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Open the compartment cover, insert the required batteries (typically AAA, check markings inside the compartment) ensuring correct polarity (+/-), and then close the cover securely.

3. Initial Placement

Place the scale on a firm, level, and dry surface. Avoid placing it on soft surfaces like carpets, which can affect accuracy.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

The Soehnle S63168 scale features an automatic On/Off function. Simply step onto the scale to turn it on. It will automatically turn off after a short period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

2. User Profile Setup (for Body Analysis)

To utilize the body fat and body water content measurement features, you must first set up a user profile. The scale supports automatic recognition for up to 8 persons.

  1. Activate Setup Mode: With the scale off, press one of the control buttons (usually indicated by arrows or a 'SET' button) located near the display. The display will typically show a user number (e.g., P1).
  2. Select User Number: Use the arrow buttons to select an empty user profile number (P1-P8).
  3. Enter Personal Data:
    • Height: Use arrow buttons to adjust your height, then confirm.
    • Age: Use arrow buttons to adjust your age, then confirm.

  2. Stand still and wait for the display to stabilize. Your weight will be shown.
  3. The scale will automatically turn off after a few seconds.

4. Taking a Measurement (Body Fat & Water Content)

  1. Ensure your feet are clean and dry. Step onto the scale with bare feet, placing them directly on the two metallic electrodes.
  2. Stand still. The scale will first display your weight.
  3. After a few moments, it will automatically display your body fat percentage, followed by your body water percentage.
  4. The scale will attempt to recognize your profile based on your current weight and stored data. If multiple profiles match, it may prompt you to select your profile using the arrow buttons.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the scale surface with a slightly damp cloth. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner can be used sparingly. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, harsh chemicals, or immerse the scale in water.

2. Battery Replacement

When the display shows a "Lo" indicator, it is time to replace the batteries. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale, remove the old batteries, and insert new ones of the correct type (e.g., AAA), observing polarity. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.

3. Storage

Store the scale in a dry place at room temperature. Avoid extreme temperatures or high humidity.
