- Instruction Manual: This document.
3. Setup
- Unfold the Game Board: Place the game board on a flat surface.
- Separate Cards: Separate the Property Cards, Autobot Cards, and Decepticon Cards. Shuffle the Autobot Cards and place them face down on their designated space on the board. Shuffle the Decepticon Cards and place them face down on their designated space.
- Banker Selection: Each player rolls one die. The player with the highest roll becomes the Banker. The Banker is responsible for managing the bank's money, properties, Energon Cubes, and Anti-Matter. The Banker may also play, but must keep their personal funds separate from the bank's.
- Initial Money Distribution: The Banker distributes the starting money to each player. Refer to the specific game rules for the exact starting amount.
- Choose Tokens: Each player selects one of the 6 collectible pewter tokens to represent them on the board.
- Starting Position: All players place their chosen token on the "GO" space.
- Energon Cubes and Anti-Matter: Place the Energon Cubes and Anti-Matter near the board, accessible to the Banker.
4. Operating (How to Play)
The game proceeds in turns, with players rolling dice and moving their tokens around the board. The objective is to acquire properties, develop them with Energon Cubes and Anti-Matter, and collect rent from other players, ultimately driving opponents into bankruptcy.
Game Turn Sequence:
- Roll Dice: The current player rolls both dice and moves their token clockwise the corresponding number of spaces.
- Action Based on Space: The action taken depends on the space landed upon:
- Unowned Property (City, Base, Planet): The player may purchase the property from the Bank for the price indicated on the space. If they decline, the property is auctioned to the highest bidder.
- Owned Property: If another player owns the property, the current player must pay rent to the owner as indicated on the Property Card.
- Autobot or Decepticon Card Space: Draw the top card from the respective deck and follow its instructions. Use the provided card decoder if necessary.
- "GO" Space: Passing or landing on "GO" earns the player a specified amount of money from the Bank.
- "Space Bridge" (Go to Jail): Landing on this space or drawing a card that instructs "Go to Space Bridge" sends the player's token directly to the "In Space Bridge" space.
- Other Special Spaces: Follow instructions for spaces like Free Parking, Income Tax, etc.
- Doubles: If a player rolls doubles, they take their turn as usual and then roll again. Rolling doubles three times in a row sends the player directly to the "In Space Bridge" space.
- End Turn: After completing all actions, the turn passes to the player on the left.
5. Game Rules
Property Ownership and Development:
- Monopolies: To develop properties with Energon Cubes or Anti-Matter, a player must own all properties of a color group (a monopoly).
- Building: Once a monopoly is established, players can purchase Energon Cubes from the Bank and place them on their properties. Development must be even across all properties in a color group.
- Anti-Matter: After placing four Energon Cubes on each property in a color group, a player can upgrade to an Anti-Matter unit, replacing the four Energon Cubes.
- Rent: Rent increases significantly with property development.
Trading and Mortgaging:
- Trading: Players can trade properties, money, and "Get Out of Space Bridge Free" cards with other players at any time.
- Mortgaging: Properties can be mortgaged to the Bank for half their purchase price to raise funds. Mortgaged properties do not collect rent. To unmortgage, pay the mortgage value plus 10% interest.
Bankruptcy:
If a player owes more money than they can pay, even after selling all Energon Cubes/Anti-Matter and mortgaging all properties, they are declared bankrupt and are out of the game. All their assets are turned over to the player they owe or to the Bank.
Winning the Game:
The last player remaining in the game, after all others have gone bankrupt, is the winner.
