3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation and Charging
- Install Battery Pack: Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio. Insert the provided rechargeable NiMH battery pack, ensuring correct polarity. Replace the cover securely. Alternatively, you may use 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included) per radio.
- Charge Battery Pack: Place the radios into the desktop charger. Connect the AC wall adapter or DC vehicle adapter to the charger and a power source. The charging indicator light will illuminate. Allow approximately 12-14 hours for a full charge. For initial use, charge the battery pack for a full 24 hours.

3.2. Attaching the Belt Clip
Align the belt clip with the grooves on the back of the radio and slide it down until it clicks into place. To remove, lift the tab on the belt clip and slide it upwards.
3.3. Attaching the Headset
Insert the headset plug into the audio jack located on the side of the radio. Ensure the plug is fully inserted for proper operation.

4.1. Controls and Display

4.2. Power On/Off and Volume
- Power On: Rotate the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob clockwise until you hear a click.
- Power Off: Rotate the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
- Adjust Volume: Rotate the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob to increase or decrease the listening volume.
4.3. Channel Selection

4.6. NOAA Weather Scan & Alert

4.7. VOX/EVOX Hands-Free Operation
