Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the LT-212 cabinet from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Position the cabinet on a stable, level surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. The folding tilt mechanism can be engaged to angle the cabinet upwards for improved sound projection towards the user.
  3. Connection: Connect the LT-212 cabinet to your amplifier's speaker output using a high-quality speaker cable. The cabinet features a 6.35mm Jack connector. Ensure the amplifier's impedance output matches the cabinet's impedance (refer to amplifier and cabinet specifications for details).
  4. Dust Cover: Utilize the provided custom dust cover to protect the cabinet from dust and debris when not in use.

Operating

The Laney LT-212 is a passive speaker cabinet and does not require external power. Its operation is dependent on the connected amplifier.

  • Power On/Off Sequence: Always power on your amplifier after connecting the cabinet and power off the amplifier before disconnecting the cabinet. This prevents potential damage to both the amplifier and the cabinet.
  • Volume Levels: Adjust volume levels gradually on your amplifier. Avoid operating the amplifier at excessively high volumes for prolonged periods, which can lead to speaker damage. The cabinet is rated for 60 Watts RMS handling.
  • Tilt Mechanism: To engage the tilt mechanism, gently pull the metal bar located at the bottom front of the cabinet outwards until it locks into position. To disengage, push the bar back into its recessed position.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and performance of your Laney LT-212 cabinet.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the cabinet's exterior. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the cabinet in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided dust cover to protect the finish.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect speaker cables and connectors for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure all screws and hardware are secure.
