2. Setup
2.1. Inserting the Battery
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Slide the cover release latch and open the cover.
- Insert the supplied battery (NP-BD1 type) into the compartment, ensuring the correct orientation as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover and slide the latch until it clicks into place.

2.3. Inserting a Memory Card
The camera uses Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo media (not included). A memory card is required for extensive photo and video storage.
- Open the memory card slot cover, usually located near the battery compartment.
- Insert the Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo media with the metal contacts facing the correct direction, as shown by the diagram near the slot. Push until it clicks into place.
- Close the memory card slot cover.

3. Operating the Camera
3.1. Powering On/Off
Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on or off. The lens cover will slide open or close automatically.
3.2. Basic Controls and iAuto Mode
The DSC-T900 features a touch-screen LCD for most operations. The camera's intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode automatically analyzes the scene and adjusts settings for optimal results, making it easy to capture great photos without manual adjustments.
- Touch-screen navigation: Tap icons on the screen to access menus, change settings, and review images.
- iAuto mode: Automatically detects scene conditions (e.g., portrait, landscape, night scene) and adjusts exposure, white balance, and other settings.

4. Image and Video Capture

- Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. The focus indicator will turn green when focus is achieved.

- Turn on the camera.
- Press the dedicated MOVIE button to start recording.
