Introduction
The AT&T TR1909 Trimline Corded Phone is designed for reliable and convenient landline communication. This phone features essential functions such as Caller ID, memory storage for frequently dialed numbers, and basic call management features like mute, flash, and redial. Setup
1. Connecting the Phone
- Connect one end of the coiled handset cord to the handset and the other end to the jack on the side of the phone base.
- Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE jack on the back of the phone base.
- Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to a standard telephone wall jack.
2. Battery Installation (for Caller ID)
For Caller ID functionality, install three (3) AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the underside of the phone base. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) as indicated in the compartment. Batteries are required to retain Caller ID history and display information during power outages.
3. Desk or Wall Mount Configuration
The TR1909 can be used on a desk or mounted on a wall. To switch between configurations, locate the small plastic tab on the phone base, typically near the handset cradle. For wall mounting, this tab needs to be rotated or flipped to secure the handset when the phone is vertical. For desk use, ensure the tab is in the position that allows the handset to rest securely horizontally. The phone includes mounting holes on the back for wall installation (screws and wall plugs not included).
Operating Instructions
Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Lift the handset, wait for a dial tone, and dial the desired number using the keypad.
- To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset to answer.
- To End a Call: Place the handset back on the base.

Caller ID Features
The phone stores up to 80 names and numbers in its Caller ID history. Use the CALL LIST navigation buttons (up/down arrows) to scroll through received calls. Press DISPLAY DIAL to dial a number from the Caller ID history.

Memory Dialing
The phone supports 13-number memory storage. Refer to the full user manual for detailed instructions on programming and using these memory slots.
Mute and Flash Functions
- Mute: Press the MUTE button during a call to temporarily silence your microphone. Press again to unmute.
- Flash: Press the FLASH button to answer a waiting call or to access other telephone company services (requires subscription).
Last Number Redial
Press the REDIAL button to automatically dial the last number called.
Ringer Volume Control
Adjust the ringer volume using the switch located on the side or bottom of the phone base. Options typically include High, Low, and Off.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the phone with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the phone is disconnected from the wall jack before cleaning.
Battery Replacement
When the Caller ID display becomes dim or functions intermittently, replace the three (3) AA batteries in the battery compartment. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.
Troubleshooting
