Installation Steps

  1. Connect the Base Unit:
    • Plug the small end of the power adapter into the power jack on the back of the base unit.
    • Plug the large end of the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
    • Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
    • Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to a telephone wall jack.
  2. Install Handset Batteries:
    • Open the battery compartment cover on the back of each handset.
    • Connect the battery pack plug securely into the jack inside the compartment.
    • Place the battery pack into the compartment with the label facing up.
    • Close the battery compartment cover.
  3. Charge Handsets:
    • Place each handset face forward into its respective charging cradle or the base unit.
    • The CHARGE light on the handset will illuminate, indicating proper charging.
    • Allow handsets to charge for at least 16 hours before initial use to ensure optimal battery performance.
  4. Set Date and Time:
    • After charging, press MENU/SELECT on any handset.
    • Scroll to "Set Date/Time" and press MENU/SELECT.
    • Enter the current month, day, and year using the keypad.
    • Enter the current hour and minute, then select AM or PM.
    • Press SAVE or MENU/SELECT to confirm.

Operating Instructions

Basic Phone Functions

  • Making a Call: Press TALK/FLASH, then dial the number.
  • Answering a Call: Press TALK/FLASH or any dialing key (0-9, *, #).
  • Ending a Call: Press OFF/CLEAR or place the handset in the cradle.
  • Speakerphone: During a call, press SPKR to activate/deactivate speakerphone.
  • Volume Adjustment: Press VOL (up/down arrows) during a call.
  • Redial: Press REDIAL/PAUSE to view the last 10 dialed numbers, then press TALK/FLASH to call.

Digital Answering System

The base unit features an integrated digital answering system.

  • Turning On/Off: Press ANS ON/OFF button on the base unit.
  • Playing Messages: Press PLAY/STOP button on the base unit or access from a handset via the menu.
  • Skipping Messages: Press SKIP button on the base unit during playback.
  • Deleting Messages: Press DELETE button on the base unit during playback.
  • Recording Outgoing Message: Access through the handset menu: MENU/SELECT > "Answering System" > "Record OGM".

Caller ID

The system displays the caller's name and number (if available) before you answer.

  • Reviewing Caller ID Log: Press CID on the handset to scroll through recent calls.
  • Calling Back from Log: Select an entry and press TALK/FLASH.

Intercom Function

Use the intercom feature to communicate between handsets.

  • Press INT on a handset.
  • Dial the number of the target handset (e.g., 1, 2, 3, or 4).
  • The target handset will ring. The recipient presses TALK/FLASH to answer.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the phone and base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning sprays or harsh chemicals.
  • Battery Care:
    • Replace batteries when the handset indicates low battery or performance degrades. Use only VTech approved replacement battery packs.
    • Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. Check local regulations for proper disposal.
  • Environmental Conditions:
    • Avoid placing the unit near heat sources, direct sunlight, or excessive moisture.
    • Ensure proper ventilation around the base unit.

Troubleshooting
