The Timex Men's South Street Sport Watch is designed for daily wear, combining classic style with practical features. It features a durable stainless steel expansion band, a clear black dial with full Arabic numerals, and a day and date display. The watch also includes Timex's signature Indiglo light-up dial for visibility in low light conditions and is water-resistant for everyday use.
Pull the Crown: Gently pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch) out to position 2 for setting the date and day, or position 3 for setting the time.
Set the Date and Day (Position 2): Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date and day. Note that the day changes between English and Spanish. Continue rotating until the desired day and date are displayed.
Set the Time (Position 3): Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands. To ensure correct AM/PM setting, advance the hands past 12 o'clock; if the date changes, you are in the AM hours. Continue setting the time.
Push the Crown In: Once the time, day, and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 (normal operating position) to start the watch.
The stainless steel expansion band is designed to fit wrists up to 8 inches. If the band is too loose, links can be removed by a qualified jeweler or watch repair professional. Do not attempt to remove links yourself without proper tools and knowledge, as this may damage the band.
To activate the Indiglo night-light, simply press and hold the crown. The entire dial will illuminate for easy reading in the dark. Release the crown to turn off the light.
This watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). This means it is suitable for splashes or brief immersion in water, such as washing hands or light rain. It is not suitable for swimming, bathing, showering, or diving. Avoid pressing the crown or operating any buttons while the watch is wet.
To clean your watch, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. For the stainless steel band, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.
The watch uses 1 Lithium Metal battery (included). When the watch stops running, it indicates the battery needs replacement. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure water resistance is maintained and to prevent damage to the movement.
When not in use for extended periods, store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Watch not running | Dead battery | Replace battery (professional service recommended). |
| Time/Date incorrect | Crown pulled out; not set correctly | Push crown in fully; re-set time/date as per "Setting Time and Date" section. |
| Indiglo not working | Low battery; malfunction | Replace battery; if issue persists, contact Timex customer support. |
| Condensation under crystal | Water exposure beyond resistance limits | Immediately take to a qualified watch repair center to prevent further damage. |
