1. Product Overview

The DaVinci Hidden Hardware Twin/Full-Size Bed Conversion Kit (M5789) is designed to extend the life of your compatible DaVinci crib by converting it into a larger bed. This kit allows for the transformation of a full-size crib into a full-size bed or a mini crib into a twin bed, providing a seamless transition as your child grows. The rails are constructed from 100% sustainable New Zealand pine wood and finished with a non-toxic, multi-step painting process, ensuring safety and durability.

This kit includes the necessary wooden rails and hardware for conversion. Please note that a twin/full-size bed mattress and box spring are sold separately and are required for the converted bed.

2. Safety Information

4. Assembly Instructions

This kit converts your existing crib into a twin or full-size bed. The side panels of your crib will become the headboard and footboard of the new bed.

4.1. Preparation

1. Carefully unpack all components and lay them out on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
2. Identify the headboard and footboard from your existing crib. These are typically the taller end panels.
3. Disassemble your crib according to its original instructions, removing the mattress support and side rails. Retain the headboard and footboard.

4.2. Attaching Conversion Rails

1. Position the headboard and footboard in their desired locations.
2. Align one of the wooden conversion rails with the pre-drilled holes on the inside of the headboard and footboard posts. Ensure the ledge for the mattress support is facing inwards.
3. Secure the conversion rail to the headboard and footboard using the provided bolts and screws from the hardware pack. Tighten firmly but do not overtighten.
4. Repeat the process for the second wooden conversion rail on the opposite side.
5. Verify that both rails are level and securely attached to both the headboard and footboard.

4.3. Mattress Support Installation

1. Place a compatible box spring or bed slats onto the ledges of the installed conversion rails. Ensure the support is stable and covers the entire area where the mattress will rest.
2. Carefully place your twin or full-size mattress onto the installed support.

5.1. Intended Use

This conversion kit is intended for use with compatible DaVinci, Babyletto, Babymod, Carter's by DaVinci, and Million Dollar Baby Classic Cribs. It transforms the crib into a stable twin or full-size bed suitable for children and adults within the specified weight limits.

5.2. Cleaning and Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the wooden rails with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
• Regular Checks: Periodically inspect all hardware connections to ensure they remain tight. Loose connections can compromise the stability and safety of the bed.
• Storage: If disassembling for storage, keep all hardware in a secure bag and store the wooden components in a dry, temperature-controlled environment to prevent warping or damage.

6. Troubleshooting

• Rails do not align with crib posts: Double-check that you are using the correct crib end panels as the headboard and footboard. Ensure the rails are oriented correctly with the mattress support ledge facing inwards. Refer to your crib's original manual for proper disassembly.
• Bed feels wobbly after assembly: Ensure all bolts and screws are fully tightened. Do not overtighten, but ensure a snug fit. Check that the headboard and footboard are stable on their own before attaching the rails.
• Mattress sags or falls through: This kit requires a box spring or bed slats for mattress support. The mattress should not be placed directly on the conversion rails. If using slats, ensure they are adequately spaced and supported.
