3. Installation

The Air King BFQ50 features a SNAP-IN installation system designed for ease of setup. Follow these steps for a secure and efficient installation.

Tools and Materials Required:

  • Drill
  • Screwdriver (Phillips and Flathead)
  • Hammer
  • Measuring Tape
  • Utility Knife or Drywall Saw
  • Wire Strippers
  • Duct Tape or Clamps
  • Safety Glasses and Gloves

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Opening:

Locate a suitable position between ceiling joists. The fan housing requires an opening of approximately 9-1/16 inches wide by 8-1/2 inches deep. For existing installations, you may need to enlarge the current opening. Ensure there is sufficient space for the 4-inch duct connection.

  3. Connect Ducting:

Attach a 4-inch duct to the fan's plastic duct collar. Ensure the connection is sealed with duct tape or clamps to prevent air leakage and maintain efficiency. The integrated backdraft damper should be oriented correctly to allow airflow out.
