Important Safety Information
- This gate is designed for children aged 6 to 24 months and small to medium pets.
- WARNING: Never use this gate at the top of stairs unless specifically instructed for wall-mount applications. For bottom of stairs and doorways, pressure mounting is suitable.
- Always ensure the gate is securely installed according to manufacturer's instructions. Wall cups must be used to keep the gate in place.
- The gate frame is designed to remain assembled at all times.
- Before installation, a gap may be visible at the handle and the gate may appear bent. This is normal and will be eliminated once properly mounted and tightened.
- Regularly check all parts for tightness and proper function.
- Certified to JPMA and ASTM child safety standards.

Setup and Installation
The Regalo Easy Step Baby Gate offers versatile installation options: pressure mount or optional wall mount. Always measure your opening prior to purchase to ensure the correct fit. This model fits openings between 29-38.5 inches wide and stands 30 inches tall.
Pressure Mount Installation:
- Assemble Gate: Connect the 6-inch extension to the main gate frame if your opening requires it. Secure with the provided screws and Allen wrench.
- Insert Spindle Rods: Insert the four pressure-mounted spindle rods into the holes at each corner of the gate frame.
- Position Gate: Place the assembled gate in the desired doorway or opening.
- Adjust Tension: Rotate the tension caps on the spindle rods until the rubber feet are firmly pressed against the walls or door frame. Ensure the gate is level and secure. The initial gap near the latch will close as tension is applied.
- Install Wall Cups (Recommended): For added security, especially in high-traffic areas or at the bottom of stairs, attach the wall cups to the wall using the provided screws. Position the wall cups where the rubber feet of the spindle rods make contact.

Note: The gate may appear bent or have a gap at the latch before full tension is applied. This is a design feature of pressure-mounted gates and indicates proper function once tightened.

Operating Instructions
The Regalo Easy Step Baby Gate features a convenient walk-through door with a one-touch safety lock lever, allowing adults to pass easily while keeping children and pets safely contained.
- Opening the Gate: To open, simply push the lever on the top of the gate handle and lift the gate door. The gate will swing open in either direction.
- Closing the Gate: Gently push the gate door closed until it latches automatically. A click sound indicates it is securely closed.
- Additional Security Latch: For enhanced security, especially when children are older or more persistent, a small latch at the bottom of the gate can be engaged to prevent the gate from swinging open.

Troubleshooting
- Gate appears bent or has a gap: This is normal before full installation. Tighten the pressure mounts evenly until the gap at the latch disappears and the gate frame is straight.
- Gate is not secure: Ensure all four pressure-mounted spindle rods are tightened sufficiently. If using wall cups, verify they are securely screwed into the wall.
- Gate is difficult to open/close: Check for any obstructions. Ensure the gate is properly aligned and the pressure mounts are not overtightened, which can cause friction. Adjust tension as needed.
