Setup
- Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the jack on the left side of the telephone base.
- Connect to Phone Line: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack labeled "LINE" on the back of the telephone base. Plug the other end into your wall telephone jack.
- Power Source: The HD-40P phone is powered directly by the telephone line and does not require an external power adapter or batteries for basic operation.

Operating Instructions
Making a Call
- Using the Handset: Pick up the handset. Listen for a dial tone.
- Using Speakerphone: Press the SPEAKER button. Listen for a dial tone.
- Dialing:
- Standard Dialing: Enter the desired phone number using the large numeric keypad.
- Photo Speed Dial: Press one of the nine photo speed dial buttons. The phone will automatically dial the pre-programmed number.

Receiving a Call
- When the phone rings and the visual ringer indicator flashes, pick up the handset or press the SPEAKER button to answer.
- To end the call, replace the handset or press the SPEAKER button again.

Adjusting Volume and Tone
- During a call, slide the VOL slider to increase or decrease the listening volume.
