Care and Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

Decalcification (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (calcium and lime) can build up in your coffeemaker and affect its performance. Decalcify your coffeemaker regularly, typically every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness.

  1. Pour 4 cups of undiluted white household vinegar into the water reservoir.
  2. Place an empty paper filter (or permanent filter) into the filter basket and close the lid.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle.
  5. Allow half of the vinegar solution to brew into the carafe, then press the ON/OFF button to turn off the coffeemaker.
  6. Let the coffeemaker soak for at least 30 minutes to allow the vinegar to clean the internal components.
  7. After 30 minutes, press the ON/OFF button to resume the brew cycle and brew the remaining vinegar solution.
  8. Once the cycle is complete, discard the vinegar solution from the carafe.
  9. Run 2-3 full brew cycles with clean, fresh water only to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.
