3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

The DT-250 requires two AA batteries for operation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
  2. Slide the cover downwards and lift it off.
  3. Insert two AA (UM-3/R6) batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

3.2. Antenna Connection

  • For FM reception, the connected headphones or earbuds act as the antenna. Ensure headphones are plugged into the headphone jack for optimal FM reception. An external wire antenna is also included and can be connected to the headphone jack if listening via the built-in speaker.
  • For AM reception, the radio utilizes a built-in ferrite bar antenna. No external antenna is typically required. For best reception, rotate the radio for optimal signal strength.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

  • To turn the radio ON, rotate the volume dial (located on the top) clockwise.
  • To adjust the volume, continue rotating the dial.
  • To turn the radio OFF, rotate the volume dial counter-clockwise until it clicks.

4.2. Band Selection (AM/FM)

Press the BAND button to switch between AM and FM frequency bands. The selected band will be displayed on the LCD screen.

4.3. Tuning to Stations

  • Manual Tuning: Press the Tuning Up (▲) or Tuning Down (▼) buttons briefly to adjust the frequency step by step.
  • Auto Scan Tuning: Press and hold the Tuning Up (▲) or Tuning Down (▼) buttons for a few seconds. The radio will automatically scan and stop at the next strong station.

4.4. Setting and Recalling Presets

The DT-250 allows you to store up to 19 favorite stations (a mix of AM and FM).

To Store a Station:

  1. Tune to the desired station using manual or auto scan tuning.
  2. Press and hold the MEMO button until the preset number flashes on the display.
  3. Use the Tuning Up (▲) or Tuning Down (▼) buttons to select the desired preset number (1-19).
  4. Press the MEMO button again to confirm and save the station.

To Recall a Stored Station:

  • Briefly press the MEMO button. The preset number will appear.
  • Use the Tuning Up (▲) or Tuning Down (▼) buttons to cycle through the stored presets.

4.5. Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB)

The DBB feature enhances the bass response for a richer audio experience. Locate the DBB switch on the side of the radio and slide it to the ON position to activate or OFF to deactivate.

4.6. Speaker and Headphone Output

The DT-250 features both a built-in speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack. When headphones are plugged in, audio will automatically switch from the speaker to the headphones. Unplugging the headphones will revert audio to the speaker.

5.1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the radio's exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Avoid getting moisture into any openings.

5.2. Battery Care

  • Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD or when audio quality degrades.
  • Remove batteries if the radio will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.
  • Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

5.3. Storage

Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
