Setup
1. Battery Installation
Insert 2x AAA batteries into the battery compartment located on the back of the remote control. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
2. Initial Device Pairing (Code Search)
- Turn on the device you wish to control (e.g., TV, DVD player).
- Press and hold the SET button on the remote until the indicator light illuminates.
- Press the corresponding device button (e.g., TV, DVD) once. The indicator light will flash.
- Enter the 4-digit code for your device brand from the provided code list (refer to the separate code booklet). If the code is correct, the indicator light will turn off.
- Test the remote control functions. If the device does not respond, repeat the process with the next code for your brand.
3. Learning Function
The learning function allows the RC 4000 to learn commands directly from your original remote control. This is useful for functions not covered by pre-programmed codes or for devices not listed.
- Place the RC 4000 and your original remote control head-to-head, approximately 2-5 cm apart.
- Press and hold the SET button on the RC 4000 until the indicator light illuminates.
- Press the device button (e.g., TV) you want to assign the learned function to.
- Press the LEARN button on the RC 4000. The indicator light will flash slowly.
- Press the button on your original remote control that you want to teach. The indicator light on the RC 4000 will flash rapidly, then illuminate steadily if successful.
- Press the corresponding button on the RC 4000 where you want to store the learned function. The indicator light will flash rapidly, then turn off.
- Repeat for other buttons. Press SET to exit learning mode.
Operating Instructions
Device Selection
To control a specific device, press the corresponding device button (e.g., TV, DVD, SAT, AUDIO, PC, VCR, DVR, AUX) at the top of the remote. The remote will then operate that device.
Basic Functions
- Power (ن): Turns the selected device on or off.
- Number Buttons (0-9): For direct channel input or menu navigation.
- Volume (+/-): Adjusts the volume of the selected device.
- Channel (+/-): Changes channels on the selected device.
- Menu: Accesses the device's main menu.
- Guide: Displays the electronic program guide (if available).
- Info: Shows information about the current program or input.
- Exit: Exits menus or on-screen displays.
- Navigation (Up/Down/Left/Right/OK): For navigating menus and confirming selections.
Macro Function
The macro function allows you to program a sequence of commands to a single button press. For example, turning on your TV and DVD player with one button.
- Press and hold the SET button until the indicator light illuminates.
- Press the MACRO button. The indicator light will flash slowly.
- Press the button on the RC 4000 where you want to store the macro.
- Enter the sequence of commands you wish to store (e.g., TV, Power, DVD, Power).
- Press the MACRO button again to save the sequence. The indicator light will turn off.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or the indicator light fails to illuminate. Always replace with new AAA batteries.
- Storage: Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Check if the batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure you have selected the correct device mode (e.g., TV, DVD).
- Verify that the remote is pointed directly at the device's IR receiver.
- Re-enter the device code or use the learning function.
- Some functions not working:
