Safety Information

  • Ensure the clock is mounted securely to prevent falling and potential injury or damage.
  • Keep batteries out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
  • Remove batteries if the clock will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Clean the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Package Contents

Please check that all items are present in the package:

  • AMS 7207/1 Wall Clock Pendulum Clock
  • Instruction Manual (this document)
  • Mounting hardware (screws, wall plugs - may vary by region)

Setup

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove the clock from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage. Retain packaging for future transport or returns.

2. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock movement.
  2. Insert one (1) AA battery, ensuring the polarity (+/-) matches the indicators inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

3. Setting the Time

Once the battery is installed, the clock will automatically search for the atomic time signal. This process may take several minutes. For manual setting:

  • Use the small adjustment wheel or button on the back of the clock movement to manually set the time.
  • Turn the wheel clockwise until the correct time is displayed.

4. Pendulum Installation

Gently attach the pendulum to the hook or slot provided on the clock movement. Ensure it hangs freely and can swing without obstruction.

5. Mounting the Clock

  1. Choose a suitable location on a wall, ensuring it is sturdy enough to support the clock's weight.
  2. Mark the desired position for the mounting screw.
  3. Drill a pilot hole (if necessary) and insert a wall plug.
  4. Insert a screw, leaving a small portion protruding from the wall.
  5. Carefully hang the clock onto the screw, ensuring it is stable and level.

Operating Instructions

Timekeeping

The AMS 7207/1 features a quartz pendulum movement with atomic operation. Once set up, the clock will maintain accurate time. The pendulum is for aesthetic purposes and should swing gently.

Atomic Time Synchronization

The clock automatically synchronizes with the atomic time signal, ensuring precise timekeeping. This feature also handles daylight saving time adjustments automatically. Ensure the clock is placed in an area where it can receive a clear signal, away from large metal objects or electronic interference.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the clock, gently wipe the surfaces with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For the glass, a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry one can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could scratch the finish or glass.

Battery Replacement

When the clock hands stop moving or the pendulum stops swinging, it is time to replace the battery. Follow the battery installation steps in the Setup section. Always use a fresh AA battery.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Clock not runningDead or incorrectly installed batteryReplace battery with a fresh AA battery, ensuring correct polarity.
Incorrect time displayedPoor atomic signal reception or manual setting errorMove clock to a location with better signal. Allow time for synchronization. Manually set time if necessary.
Pendulum not swingingNot properly attached or obstructedEnsure pendulum is correctly hooked and swings freely without touching the clock body. Check battery.
