2. Important Safety Information

4. Setup

Initial Use:

1. Unpack: Remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from your kettle.
2. Clean: Before first use, it is recommended to boil a full kettle of water and then discard it.
3. Position: Place the power base on a flat, dry, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
4. Connect: Plug the power cord into a grounded 110-120V power outlet.

Filling the Kettle:

1. Press the lid release button to open the soft top lid.
2. Fill the kettle with fresh cold water to the desired level. Do not fill below the 'MIN' mark or above the 'MAX' mark.
3. Close the lid firmly until it clicks into place.

5. Operating Instructions

Selecting Temperature:

The IQ Kettle features 5 pre-programmed temperature settings optimized for different beverages:

• Green Tea: 175°F (80°C)
• White Tea: 185°F (85°C)
• Oolong: 195°F (90°C)
• French Press: 200°F (93°C)
• Boil Black Tea: 212°F (100°C)

Heating Water:

1. Fill the kettle with water as described in the Setup section.
2. Place the kettle securely on the power base.
3. Press the desired temperature button (e.g., 'BOIL BLACK TEA' for 212°F). The button will illuminate, and the kettle will begin heating.
4. Once the selected temperature is reached, the kettle will automatically switch off and emit an audible alert.

Keep Warm Function:

To activate the 'KEEP WARM' function, press the 'KEEP WARM' button after selecting your desired temperature. The kettle will maintain the water at the selected temperature for 20 minutes. This function can be activated before, during, or after the heating cycle.

6. Maintenance

Cleaning:

• Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive scourers or cleaners.
• The interior of the kettle can be cleaned with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.

Descaling:

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the kettle, affecting its performance. To descale:

1. Fill the kettle with a solution of 2 cups (approximately 500ml) distilled white vinegar and the rest with water.
2. Boil the solution using the 'BOIL BLACK TEA' setting.
3. Allow the solution to soak in the kettle for at least 30 minutes, or longer if the limescale is heavy.
4. Discard the solution and rinse the kettle thoroughly with fresh water several times.
5. For stubborn deposits, repeat the process.
