The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a compact digital camera designed for high-quality photography with advanced control options. 2. What's in the Box

3. Camera Overview

4. Setup
4.1. Inserting Batteries
- Open the battery chamber cover located on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the EN-EL5 Lithium-Ion battery (sold separately) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
- Close the battery chamber cover securely.
4.2. Inserting a Memory Card
- Open the memory card slot cover, usually located on the side or bottom of the camera.
- Insert an SD or SDHC memory card (sold separately) into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is oriented correctly.
- Close the memory card slot cover.
4.3. Initial Settings
Upon first power-on, the camera may prompt you to set the date, time, and language. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure these basic settings.
5. Operating the Camera
5.1. Power On/Off
Press the power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.
5.2. Shooting Modes
Rotate the mode dial to select your desired shooting mode:
- Auto: For simple point-and-shoot operation.
- Program (P): Camera sets aperture and shutter speed for optimal exposure.

6.2. Wired LAN
The Coolpix P6000 features a Wired LAN port, allowing direct upload of pictures to Nikon's my Picturetown photo storage and sharing service. Connect an Ethernet cable to the camera for automatic uploads.
6.3. GPS Geo-tagging
The integrated GPS capability automatically tags your pictures with the exact location where they were taken. This feature can be enabled or disabled in the camera's settings menu.
7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning the Camera
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the camera body.
- For the lens, use a lens brush or a blower to remove dust, then gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth and solution if necessary.

- Memory card error: Reinsert the memory card. If the issue persists, try a different card or format the current card (note: formatting will erase all data).
- GPS not acquiring signal: Ensure you are in an open area with a clear view of the sky. GPS signal acquisition may take some time.
