1. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your TECKNET Wireless Mouse for the first time.

1.1. Battery Installation

The TECKNET Wireless Mouse requires two (2) AA batteries (not included). To install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the underside of the mouse.
  2. Slide the cover off to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

1.2. USB Receiver Connection

The mouse operates using a 2.4G USB receiver. The receiver is conveniently stored inside the battery compartment for safekeeping.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover (if not already open from battery installation).
  2. Carefully remove the tiny USB receiver from its storage slot.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.
  4. Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer (PC, Chromebook, Mac, etc.).
  5. Turn on the mouse using the ON/OFF switch located on the underside.

The mouse is plug-and-play and should be recognized by your system automatically without requiring additional drivers.

2. Operating Instructions

The TECKNET Wireless Mouse is designed for intuitive and comfortable use across various computing tasks.

2.1. Adjustable DPI Settings

The mouse features a 6-level adjustable DPI (Dots Per Inch) to customize cursor sensitivity and tracking speed. This allows for precise control or faster navigation depending on your needs.

  • Available DPI levels: 800, 1200, 1600, 2400, 3200, 4800.
  • To change the DPI, press the DPI switch button located on the top of the mouse, just below the scroll wheel. Each press cycles through the available DPI settings.

2.2. Silent Click Feature

The left and right mouse buttons are designed for silent clicking, minimizing noise in quiet environments such as libraries, dormitories, or offices. This allows you to concentrate on your work without disturbing others.

2.4. Wireless Connection and Compatibility

The 2.4G wireless connection offers a reliable and stable link with a working range of up to 50ft (15m), reducing interference and delay.

3. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your TECKNET Wireless Mouse.

3.1. Battery Life and Power Saving

The mouse is designed for extended battery life, offering up to 30 months of use on just two AA batteries. This is achieved through upgraded independent power switches and intelligent sleep modes that minimize battery consumption.

When the mouse is not in use for a period, it automatically enters a sleep mode to conserve power. To wake the mouse, simply click any button.

3.2. Cleaning

To clean your mouse, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the surface or internal components.

4. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your TECKNET Wireless Mouse, please refer to the following common solutions:

4.1. Mouse Not Responding

  • Ensure the mouse is turned ON using the ON/OFF switch on the underside.
  • Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace them if necessary.
  • Verify that the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port on your computer. Try a different USB port.
  • If the mouse has entered sleep mode, click any button to wake it up.

4.2. Inconsistent or Erratic Cursor Movement

  • Ensure the mouse is being used on a suitable surface. Avoid highly reflective or transparent surfaces like glass.
  • Adjust the DPI setting using the DPI switch button to find a sensitivity that works best for your surface and task.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the mouse and the USB receiver, and that you are within the 50ft/15m wireless range.
