4. Maintenance
4.1. Cleaning
- Wooden Case: Wipe the wooden case with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a wood-safe cleaner sparingly and follow the product instructions. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Glass Cover: Clean the glass cover with a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth, not directly onto the clock, to prevent liquid from seeping into the mechanism.
4.2. Battery Replacement
Replace the AA battery annually or when the clock stops keeping accurate time or the chimes weaken. Refer to Section 2.1 for battery installation instructions.
5. Troubleshooting
- Clock Not Running: Ensure the AA battery is correctly installed with proper polarity and is not depleted. Replace the battery if necessary.
- Incorrect Time: Reset the time using the time setting knob on the back of the clock.
- Chimes Not Working: Check the chime selection switch and volume control knob on the back of the clock. Ensure the volume is not set to minimum or off. Verify the battery is not depleted.
- Irregular Chimes: This may indicate a low battery. Replace the AA battery.
