Setup
The Rabbit Original Vertical Lever Corkscrew Wine Opener requires minimal setup. Ensure all components are present and free from damage before first use.
Unpack: Carefully remove the wine opener, foil cutter, and extra spiral from their packaging.
Inspect: Check all parts for any signs of damage or manufacturing defects.
Familiarize: Before operating, familiarize yourself with the lever mechanism and the foil cutter.
Operating Instructions
1. Removing the Foil
Take the included Foil Cutter.
Place the foil cutter over the top of the wine bottle, ensuring it grips the foil securely.
With a firm grip, squeeze the foil cutter and rotate it around the bottle's neck a few times until the foil is cleanly cut.
Remove the foil cutter and discard the separated foil.
2. Opening the Wine Bottle
Ensure the lever of the wine opener is in the fully raised position.
Place the wine opener firmly over the neck of the wine bottle, ensuring the corkscrew is centered over the cork. The rubberized grips should securely hold the bottle neck.
With one hand holding the wine opener firmly on the bottle, use your other hand to push the lever down smoothly and completely. The corkscrew will automatically insert into the cork.
Once the lever is fully down, pull the lever back up smoothly and completely. The cork will be extracted from the bottle and remain on the corkscrew.

3. Releasing the Cork
Once the cork is extracted and on the corkscrew, release the grip on the bottle.
Hold the wine opener with the cork still attached.
To release the cork, push the lever down again, then pull it back up. The cork will automatically detach from the spiral.
Discard the cork.
Maintenance
Cleaning: Wipe the wine opener and foil cutter with a damp cloth after each use. Do not immerse the entire unit in water.
Drying: Ensure all parts are thoroughly dried before storage to prevent rust or damage.
Storage: Store the wine opener and its accessories in a dry place, preferably in its original packaging or a designated drawer, to protect it from dust and damage.
Spiral Replacement: If the corkscrew spiral becomes dull or damaged, replace it with the provided extra spiral. To replace, consult the specific instructions for spiral removal and insertion (usually involves unscrewing a collar or pin).
Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Cause
Solution
Cork not extracting fully.
Insufficient force applied to the lever; corkscrew not fully inserted.
Ensure the lever is pushed down completely and pulled up with firm, continuous motion. Verify the corkscrew is centered.
Cork stuck on the spiral after extraction.
Cork not fully released from the spiral.
Push the lever down and pull it back up firmly to eject the cork. Repeat if necessary.
Foil not cutting cleanly.
Foil cutter not properly positioned or blades are dull.
Ensure the foil cutter is pressed firmly against the bottle and rotated completely. If blades are dull, consider replacing the foil cutter.
Difficulty pushing or pulling the lever.
Corkscrew may be dry or mechanism needs lubrication.
Apply a small amount of food-grade lubricant to the moving parts of the lever mechanism if resistance is consistent.
