Product Overview
The Surebonder CL-800F is a high-temperature, full-size cordless hot glue gun designed for various crafting, floral, and do-it-yourself projects. It offers both cordless and corded operation for flexibility and convenience. This glue gun is capable of reaching 380°F (193°C) for optimal bonding with a wide range of materials.
Key Features:
- High Temperature: Operates at 380°F for strong bonds on metal, wood, ceramics, leather, and other porous and non-porous materials.
- Cordless/Corded Operation: Use with the heating base for cordless applications (up to 3 minutes off base) or plug the cord directly into the gun for continuous use.
- 60-Watt Capacity: Ensures continual glue flow for efficient application.
- Safety Features: Includes a safety fuse, insulated nozzle, and side fins to prevent glue backup when laid down.
- Ergonomic Design: Comfortable grip and long trigger for ease of use.
- Standard Glue Sticks: Compatible with standard 7/16-inch (full size) diameter glue sticks in 4-inch or 10-inch lengths.

Setup and Initial Use
- Assemble the Stand: Attach the non-stick glue pad to the heating base if it's not already assembled.
- Connect Power: Plug the 5 ft AC electrical cord into the heating base, then plug the other end into a standard 120V electrical outlet.
- Insert Glue Stick: Insert a standard 7/16-inch (full size) diameter glue stick into the back of the glue gun.
- Place on Base: Place the glue gun onto the heating base. Ensure it is seated correctly for heating.
- Power On: Locate the On/Off switch on the glue gun and switch it to the "On" position. A power indicator light will illuminate, typically red, to show the gun is heating.
- Preheat: Allow the glue gun to preheat for approximately 3-5 minutes until the glue is melted and ready for use. The indicator light will remain on during heating.

Operating Instructions
Cordless Operation
For cordless use, lift the glue gun from its heating base. The gun will retain heat for approximately 3 minutes, allowing for freedom of movement. Return the glue gun to the base between applications to maintain optimal temperature and reheat as needed.
Corded Operation
For continuous use or longer projects, the power cord can be detached from the heating base and plugged directly into the back of the glue gun. This provides uninterrupted power and heat.

Applying Glue
- Once heated, gently squeeze the trigger to dispense melted glue from the nozzle.
- Apply glue to one surface and immediately press the two surfaces together. Hold firmly for a few seconds to allow the bond to set.
- When the glue stick is nearly depleted, insert a new glue stick into the back of the gun to push the old one through.

Safety Precautions
- The nozzle and melted glue are extremely hot (380°F). Avoid direct contact with skin to prevent burns.
- Always place the glue gun on its heating base or a heat-resistant surface when not in use. The non-stick glue pad helps catch drips.
- Do not leave the glue gun unattended while powered on.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Ensure proper ventilation when using the glue gun.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: After use, allow the glue gun to cool completely. Any dried glue on the nozzle or body can be carefully peeled or scraped off. Do not use water or cleaning solvents on the electrical components.
- Storage: Store the cooled glue gun and its components in a dry, safe place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Glue Stick Management: It is recommended to leave a glue stick partially inserted in the gun to prevent glue from drying inside the chamber.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Glue not dispensing or slow flow | Insufficient heating time; clogged nozzle; incorrect glue stick size. | Allow more preheating time. Ensure correct 7/16-inch glue sticks are used. If clogged, gently push a new glue stick through or carefully clear the nozzle with a non-flammable tool while hot (use extreme caution). |
| Glue dripping excessively | Overheating; gun left on for too long without use; nozzle not fully sealed. | Ensure the gun is placed on its non-stick pad when not actively in use. Turn off the gun if not used for extended periods. Some dripping is normal for high-temperature glue guns. |
| Power indicator light not on | Not plugged in; power switch off; faulty cord/outlet. | Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the base/gun and the outlet. Ensure the On/Off switch is in the "On" position. Test the outlet with another device. |
