Setup Instructions

1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the front door of the clock. The clock face and pendulum are attached to this door.
  2. Locate the battery compartment behind the clock face.
  3. Insert two (2) "C" batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the front door securely.

2. Mounting the Clock

The Alvarez Wall Clock is designed for wall mounting. Due to its weight (approximately 13.4 lbs), it is crucial to mount it securely.

  1. Choose a sturdy wall location, preferably a wall stud, to support the clock's weight.
  2. Use appropriate mounting hardware (e.g., a robust wall anchor or a 3M Claw wall hanger for drywall, or screws into a stud) to hang the clock. Ensure the hardware can safely hold at least double the clock's weight.
  3. Hang the clock using the attached support bar/claw on the back.

    • Setting 2: Westminster on the hour with strikes counting the hour, and 1/4 melody every 1/4 hour.
    • Setting 3: Westminster on the hour with strikes counting the hour, with no 1/4 hour melody.
    • Setting 4: Bim Bam on the hour with Bim Bam melody playing counting the hours.
  2. Nighttime Shut-off Switch: Locate the switch with 3 settings.
    • Setting 1: Turns off chimes at night (last chime at 10 PM, next chime at 6 AM).
    • Setting 2: Chimes on 24 hours.
    • Setting 3: Turns chimes completely off.
  3. Volume Control: A knob is available to adjust the chime volume up or down.

3. Pendulum Operation

After setting the time and chimes, gently swing the pendulum to start its motion. The pendulum should swing freely.
