Setup & Installation

The CL1005 lock is designed for easy installation and can serve as a quick retrofit for existing cam locks or for new installations on units without a lock. It fits doors up to 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) thick and features a 5/8 inch (15.8 mm) threaded barrel.

Package Contents:

  • CL1005 Lock Body
  • Mounting Bolts
  • Installation Template
  • 2 x AAA Batteries
  • Cam (pre-installed or separate)

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Door: Use the provided template to mark and drill the necessary holes on the cabinet door. Ensure the door thickness does not exceed 1/2 inch (12.7 mm).
  2. Insert Lock Body: Insert the threaded barrel of the lock body through the prepared hole from the front of the cabinet door.
  3. Secure Lock Body: From the inside of the cabinet, place the mounting plate over the threaded barrel and secure it with the provided nut. Tighten firmly.
  4. Install Cam: Attach the appropriate cam to the back of the lock mechanism using the provided screw. Ensure the cam rotates freely and engages with the cabinet frame when locked.
  5. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the lock. Insert the 2 x AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.
  6. Test Operation: Before closing the cabinet, test the lock with the default code (refer to the operating instructions for default code and programming).

Operating Instructions

The CL1005 lock operates using a user-programmable code. It is powered by 2 x AAA batteries, providing approximately 15,000 openings.

Opening the Lock:

  1. Enter your 4-6 digit user code.
  2. The lock will emit a confirmation tone and the LED will flash green.
  3. Turn the knob to the unlocked position.
  4. Open the cabinet door.

Closing and Locking:

  1. Close the cabinet door.
  2. Turn the knob to the locked position. The lock will automatically engage.

Changing the User Code:

Refer to the specific programming instructions provided with your lock for detailed steps on changing the user code and master code. Generally, this involves entering a programming sequence followed by the new code.

Battery Failure Override:

In case of battery failure, the lock can be temporarily powered using a 9V battery. Locate the two contact points (LEDs) on the front of the lock. Apply the 9V battery across these points (positive to positive, negative to negative). While holding the 9V battery in place, enter the Master Code to open the lock. Replace the internal AAA batteries immediately after gaining access.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement:

When the batteries are low, the lock may emit a warning signal (e.g., multiple beeps or a red LED flash) upon code entry. Replace the 2 x AAA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Always use high-quality alkaline batteries.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the lock.
  2. Remove the old batteries.
  3. Insert new 2 x AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Cleaning:

Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
