Setup

1. Battery Installation

The sewing machine requires batteries for operation (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside or back of the machine.
  2. Using a screwdriver, open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the required number of AA batteries (typically 4, check compartment for specific markings), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

2. Threading the Machine

Proper threading is crucial for successful sewing.

  1. Place a spool of thread onto the spool pin.
  2. Follow the numbered or indicated threading path on the machine, guiding the thread through all tension discs and guides.
  3. Thread the needle from front to back. Pull approximately 10-15 cm of thread through the needle eye.
  4. Ensure the bobbin is correctly inserted into its compartment beneath the needle plate. The bobbin thread should be pulled up through the needle plate opening.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Locate the 'On/Off' switch on the side of the machine. Slide it to the 'On' position to power on the machine.

2. Adjusting Thread Tension

The tension dial, often labeled 'LOOSE' and 'TIGHT', controls the tightness of the upper thread. Adjust this dial as needed to achieve even stitches. Turning towards 'TIGHT' increases tension, while turning towards 'LOOSE' decreases it.

3. Starting to Sew

  1. Place the fabric under the presser foot.
  2. Lower the presser foot using the lever.
  3. Slowly press the foot pedal (if included) or activate the sewing button to start sewing. Guide the fabric gently.
  4. To stop, release the foot pedal or press the sewing button again.

4. Finishing a Seam

  1. Raise the needle to its highest position.
  2. Lift the presser foot.
  3. Pull the fabric away from the machine, leaving enough thread to cut.
  4. Cut both the upper and bobbin threads.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Always switch off the machine and remove batteries before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the machine.
  • Carefully remove any lint or thread scraps from the bobbin area and around the needle plate using a small brush.

2. Storage

Store the sewing machine in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it in its original packaging or a protective cover to prevent dust accumulation.
