1. Introduction

4. Setup

Follow these steps to connect the CIM to your server and KVM switch:

  1. Power Off: Ensure the server and the Raritan Dominion KVM switch are powered off before making any connections.
  2. Connect to Server:
    • Connect the 15-pin HD-15 Male Video connector of the CIM to the VGA port on your server.
    • Connect the two Type A Male USB connectors of the CIM to available USB ports on your server. These connections provide keyboard, mouse, and virtual media functionality.
  3. Connect to KVM Switch: Connect a standard Cat 5e (or higher) Ethernet cable from the RJ-45 Female Network port on the CIM to an available CIM port on your Raritan Dominion KVM switch.
  4. Power On: Once all connections are secure, power on the Raritan Dominion KVM switch, then power on the server.

The CIM will be automatically detected by the KVM switch.

The Raritan Dominion Kx II CIM enables remote access and control of your connected server through the KVM switch. Key functionalities include:

  • Remote KVM Access: Use the KVM switch's interface to select and control the connected server. This includes full keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) functionality.
