Features

  • Automatic Movement: Self-winding mechanism, powered by the motion of your wrist.
  • Day/Date Display: Conveniently shows the current day of the week and date.
  • Luminous Hands: Enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.
  • Water Resistance: Rated for 50 meters (5 ATM), suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving.
  • Stainless Steel Construction: Durable silver and gold-tone stainless steel case and band.
  • Mineral Crystal: Provides scratch resistance and clear visibility of the dial.

Setup

  1. Initial Winding: If the watch has stopped, gently shake it side-to-side for about 30 seconds to initiate the automatic movement. For a full power reserve, wear the watch for at least 8 hours or manually wind it by rotating the crown clockwise while it is in the normal position (position 0) for approximately 20-30 turns.
  2. Setting the Time:
    • Pull the crown out to position 2 (the outermost position).
    • Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure the day/date changes at midnight, advance the hands past 12 o'clock. If the day/date changes around noon, you are 12 hours off.
    • Push the crown back to position 0 (normal position) to start the watch.
  3. Setting the Day and Date:
    • Pull the crown out to position 1 (the first click).
    • Rotate the crown clockwise to set the date.
    • Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to set the day.
    • Important: Do not set the day/date between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM, as this can damage the movement. If adjustment is needed during this period, first set the time outside this range, adjust the day/date, then reset the time.
    • Push the crown back to position 0.

Operating Instructions

Your SEIKO SNKE04K1 watch is powered by an automatic movement, meaning it winds itself through the natural motion of your wrist. No battery replacement is required.

  • Wearing the Watch: For consistent operation, wear the watch daily. If worn infrequently, it may stop and require manual winding or shaking to restart.
  • Power Reserve: A fully wound watch typically has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours.
  • Crown Positions:
    • Position 0 (Normal): Watch is running, and manual winding is possible by rotating the crown clockwise.
    • Position 1 (First Click): Adjust day and date.
    • Position 2 (Second Click): Adjust time.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and band regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and perspiration. For the stainless steel band, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
  • Water Resistance: The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for splashes, rain, and short periods of recreational swimming. It is not suitable for diving, snorkeling, or showering with hot water, which can compromise the seals. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures (above 60°C / 140°F or below 0°C / 32°F) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the movement and seals.
  • Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones, medical devices), as magnetism can affect the accuracy of the automatic movement.
  • Servicing: It is recommended to have your watch inspected by an authorized SEIKO service center every 3-5 years to ensure proper functioning and water resistance.
