Important Safeguards

• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the heat control or cord in water or other liquid.

Setup

1. Before first use, wash the wok body, glass cover, and wooden spatula according to the 'Care and Cleaning' instructions.
2. Ensure the heat control is removed before washing.
3. Dry all parts thoroughly.
4. Insert the Control Master® heat control into the receptacle on the wok body, ensuring it is fully seated.
5. Place the wok on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

Operating Instructions

Preheating

1. Plug the heat control cord into a 120V AC wall outlet.
2. Set the desired cooking temperature using the Control Master® dial. For most stir-fry recipes, a temperature between 350°F and 400°F is recommended.
3. Allow the wok to preheat for approximately 5-10 minutes, or until the indicator light on the heat control turns off, signaling that the set temperature has been reached.

Cooking

1. Add a small amount of cooking oil (e.g., wok oil, olive oil with a high smoke point) to the preheated wok.
2. Once the oil is hot, add your ingredients. For stir-frying, it is crucial to have all ingredients prepared and ready before you begin cooking, as the process is very fast.
3. Stir-fry ingredients quickly and continuously using the provided wooden spatula to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.
4. Adjust the temperature as needed during cooking. The Control Master® heat control automatically maintains the desired temperature.
5. For dishes requiring simmering or steaming, place the tempered-glass cover on the wok.

Care and Cleaning

Proper care and cleaning will extend the life of your Presto Electric Wok.

1. Always unplug the heat control from the wall outlet and the wok body before cleaning. Allow the wok to cool completely.
2. The wok body and tempered-glass cover are fully immersible and dishwasher safe once the heat control is removed.
3. For best results, wash the wok and lid in warm, soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.
4. The Control Master® heat control should never be immersed in water or other liquids. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
5. If food residue sticks to the wok, fill it with a small amount of water, turn the heat to 350°F, and allow it to simmer briefly. This will help loosen the residue for easier cleaning.
6. The included wooden spatula should be hand washed only.

Troubleshooting

• Wok not heating: Ensure the heat control is fully inserted into the wok's receptacle and the power cord is securely plugged into a working 120V AC outlet. Check if the temperature dial is set above 'OFF'.
• Food sticking: Ensure the wok is properly preheated before adding oil and ingredients. Use a sufficient amount of oil. For stainless steel woks, proper seasoning and preheating are key to minimizing sticking.
