Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your Waterpik NSL 653 Linea 6-Mode Handheld Shower.

Tools Required:

  • Adjustable Pliers
  • Cloth Towel (to protect finish)

Installation Steps:

  1. Remove Old Shower Head:
    • Cover the existing shower head with a cloth towel to prevent scratching.
    • Using adjustable pliers, unscrew the old shower head from the shower arm in a counter-clockwise direction.
    • Once removed, set the old shower head aside.
    • Remove any old Teflon tape or plumber's putty from the shower arm threads.
    • Check inside the shower arm for any remaining washers using a pencil or similar tool and remove them.
  2. Install New Shower Bracket:
    • Ensure the rubber washer is properly seated within the threaded connection on the back of the new shower bracket.
    • Thread the new shower bracket onto the shower arm by hand, turning clockwise until snug.
    • If necessary, use pliers covered with a cloth towel to gently tighten the connection. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the fixture.
  3. Connect Hose and Handheld Shower:
    • Locate the shower hose. Check both ends to ensure rubber washers are in place. One end may be labeled "ATTACH THIS END" for connection to the shower head. If no label is present, either end will work.
    • Connect the appropriate hose end to the shower bracket.
    • Connect the other end of the hose to the handheld shower head.
    • Place the handheld shower head into the bracket and adjust to your desired position.
  4. Test for Leaks:
    • Turn on the water supply to the shower.
    • Carefully check all connections for any signs of leakage.
    • If leaks appear, turn off the water, gently tighten the connections, and retest.
    • If no leaks are visible, your Waterpik NSL 653 Linea 6-Mode Handheld Shower is ready for use.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning will help maintain the performance and appearance of your Waterpik shower head.

  • Cleaning the Nozzles: Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the spray nozzles. To clean, gently rub the rubber nozzles with your finger or a soft brush to dislodge any deposits.
  • Cleaning the Finish: Use a soft cloth and mild soap to clean the chrome finish. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Hose Care: Periodically check the hose for kinks or damage. Ensure it hangs freely when not in use to prevent stress on the connections.
