Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before operating the appliance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the panini grill from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or shipping.
  2. Placement: Place the grill on a stable, heat-resistant, non-combustible surface. Ensure there is sufficient clearance around the unit for proper ventilation, especially from walls and other equipment.
  3. Power Connection: Verify that the electrical supply matches the specifications of the grill (120V, 1750W, 14.5 Amps). Plug the NEMA 5-15 plug into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe down the exterior and cooking plates with a damp cloth. For the cast iron plates, a light seasoning with cooking oil may be beneficial, following manufacturer's recommendations for cast iron care.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Plug the unit into a suitable electrical outlet. The power indicator light (usually green) will illuminate.
  2. Set Temperature: Turn the adjustable thermostat knob to the desired temperature. The temperature range is from 120°F to 570°F. A higher setting will result in faster cooking and darker grilling marks.
  3. Preheating: Allow the grill to preheat for approximately 10-15 minutes, or until the ready indicator light (usually orange/red) turns off, indicating the set temperature has been reached.
  4. Grilling: Carefully place your sandwich or food item onto the lower cast iron plate. Gently lower the upper plate onto the food. The even heat distribution from both plates will cook the item simultaneously.
  5. Cooking Time: Cooking time will vary depending on the food item, its thickness, and the desired level of doneness. Monitor the food closely to prevent overcooking.
  6. Removing Food: Use heat-resistant utensils to carefully remove the cooked food from the grill. Avoid using metal utensils that could scratch the plates.
  7. Power Off: After use, turn the thermostat knob to the "OFF" position and unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. Allow the grill to cool completely before cleaning or storing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your panini grill.

  1. Cool Down: Always ensure the grill is unplugged and completely cool before attempting any cleaning.
  2. Empty Oil Tray: The grill is equipped with a removable stainless steel oil tray. Slide out and empty the tray after each use. Wash it with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  3. Clean Cooking Plates: Use the provided wire brush to scrape off any food residue from the cast iron plates. For stubborn residue, a damp cloth or sponge with mild detergent can be used once the plates have cooled. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the surface.
  4. Clean Exterior: Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
  5. Storage: Store the grill in a clean, dry place when not in use.
