Safety Information
WARNING: Melted glue will burn skin. Keep away from children. Always use caution when operating this tool.
- Do not touch the melted glue or nozzle directly.
- Ensure the glue gun is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface when not in use, utilizing the integrated stand.
- Always unplug the glue gun when not in use or before performing any maintenance.
- Do not operate the glue gun near flammable materials.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Setup
- Insert Glue Stick: Insert a full-size (0.44" diameter) AdTech glue stick into the opening at the back of the glue gun. Push it in until it stops.
- Plug In: Plug the glue gun into a standard 120V electrical outlet.
- Position Stand: Extend the metal stand at the front of the glue gun to keep the hot nozzle elevated and prevent drips onto your work surface.
- Heat Up: Allow the glue gun to heat for approximately 5 minutes. The glue gun is ready for use when the glue begins to melt and can be dispensed by gently squeezing the trigger.

Operating Instructions
The AdTech 0453 features dual temperature settings for versatile application.
- Select Temperature: Use the switch on the side of the glue gun to select either 'H' for High Temperature or 'L' for Low Temperature.
- Low Temperature (L): Ideal for delicate materials such as fabrics, paper, foam, and lace. The low setting provides safer bonds for heat-sensitive materials. (Approx. 290°F / 143°C)
- High Temperature (H): Suitable for stronger bonds on materials like wood, metal, glass, and ceramics. Use for larger projects requiring a robust bond. (Approx. 350°F / 177°C)
- Apply Glue: Gently squeeze the trigger to dispense melted glue. The needle nozzle provides precise glue control for detailed work. Apply glue to one surface and press the two surfaces together within 15-30 seconds, depending on the glue type and temperature setting.
- Refill Glue Stick: As the glue stick shortens, insert a new one into the back of the gun to push the remaining stick forward.
- Finishing: When finished, unplug the glue gun and allow it to cool completely before storing.

Maintenance
- Cleaning the Nozzle: After the glue gun has cooled completely, any excess dried glue on the nozzle can be carefully peeled or scraped off. Do not use metal tools that could damage the nozzle.
- Storage: Store the glue gun in a clean, dry place, out of reach of children. Ensure the cord is not wrapped tightly around the gun, which could cause damage.
- Never Pull Out a Partially Used Glue Stick: This can damage the internal mechanism of the glue gun. Always push new glue sticks through.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Glue does not dispense or comes out slowly. | Not enough heat, glue stick not fully inserted, or air pocket. | Ensure the gun has heated for at least 5 minutes. Insert a new glue stick to push the existing one forward. If using low temp, try switching to high temp for a minute to melt glue faster, then switch back. |
| Glue is stringy or drips excessively. | Normal operation, or glue gun is too hot. | Stringing is common with hot glue. Reduce by quickly pulling the nozzle away from the project. Use a protective mat to catch drips. If using high temp, consider if low temp is sufficient for your material. |
| Glue appears rubbery or doesn't bond well. | Incorrect temperature setting for material, or incompatible glue sticks. | Ensure you are using the appropriate temperature setting for your material (high for strong bonds, low for delicate). Use only AdTech full-size glue sticks for optimal performance. |
| Glue gun is not heating. | Not plugged in, or power outlet issue. | Check if the glue gun is securely plugged into a working outlet. Test the outlet with another appliance. |
