Maintenance
Care and Cleaning
- Regular Flushing: After each use, run cold water for a few seconds after the grinding stops to flush the drain line.
- Deep Cleaning: To clean the grinding chamber and remove odors, grind a tray of ice cubes followed by citrus peels (lemon, orange).
Removable Splashguard
The splashguard can be removed for cleaning. Simply pull it out from the sink opening, clean it with soap and water, and reinsert it. This helps maintain hygiene and prevents odors.

Troubleshooting
Disposal Not Starting
- Check Power: Ensure the disposal is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Reset Button: Locate the red reset button on the front of the disposal unit and press it firmly. If it trips repeatedly, there may be an internal issue requiring professional service.
Jammed Disposal
- Turn Off Power: Disconnect power to the disposal at the circuit breaker or by unplugging it.
- Clear Obstruction: Use tongs or pliers to carefully remove any visible objects from the grinding chamber. Never use your hands.
- Use Wrench: If no object is visible, insert the disposal wrench (or a 1/4 inch hex wrench) into the center hole on the bottom of the disposal and turn it back and forth to free the grinding plates.
- Reset: Restore power and press the reset button. Turn on cold water and then the disposal.
