Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
  2. Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  3. Insert one (1) AAA battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The unit requires one AAA battery for operation, providing up to 54 hours of listening time.

2. Connecting Headphones

Plug the stereo headphones into the headphone jack on the unit. The headphone cord also functions as the FM antenna, so ensure it is extended for optimal FM reception.

3. Attaching the Belt Clip

Align the belt clip with the designated slot on the back of the radio and slide it into place until it clicks securely. This allows for convenient portability.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Press the POWER button to turn the radio on or off.

Tuning Radio Stations

The SRF-M37W features digital tuning for precise station selection.

  • Band Selection: Press the BAND button repeatedly to cycle through AM, FM, and Weather Band (WB) frequencies.
  • Manual Tuning: Use the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to manually adjust the frequency.
  • Seek Tuning: Press and hold the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to automatically scan for the next available station.

Setting Station Presets

The radio allows for 20 station presets: 5 AM, 10 FM, and 5 Weather Band.

  1. Tune to the desired station using the tuning buttons.
  2. Press and hold the MEMORY button until the preset number flashes on the display.
  3. Use the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to select the desired preset number (1-20).
  4. Press the MEMORY button again to confirm and save the station.

Recalling Presets: Press the PRESET + or PRESET - buttons to cycle through your saved stations.

Direct Key Preset Memory

The unit features five direct key preset memory buttons for quick access to frequently listened-to stations, even across different frequency bands.

  • To Store: Tune to the desired station. Press and hold one of the five direct key preset buttons (e.g., 1, 2) until a beep sounds, indicating the station is saved.
  • To Recall: Simply press the corresponding direct key preset button to instantly tune to the saved station.

Weather Band Tuning Function and Direct Weather Button

Access up-to-the-minute weather information from local weather band broadcasts.

  • Weather Band Tuning: Press the BAND button until "WB" appears on the display. Then use the TUNE buttons or presets to select a weather channel (Ch. 1-7).
  • Direct Weather Button: For immediate access to your local weather forecast, press the dedicated DIRECT WEATHER button.

Setting the Digital Clock

The radio includes a built-in digital clock.

  1. With the radio off, press and hold the CLOCK button until the hour digits begin to flash.
  2. Use the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to set the hour.
  3. Press the CLOCK button again; the minute digits will flash.
  4. Use the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to set the minutes.
  5. Press the CLOCK button one more time to confirm and exit clock setting mode.

FM Local/Distance (DX) Switch

This switch optimizes FM reception.

  • Set to LOCAL for strong, nearby FM stations.
  • Set to DX (Distance) for weaker, more distant FM stations.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: Remove the battery if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting
