Setup
1. Charging the Device
Before first use, fully charge your Philips SA30 MP3 player. Connect the supplied USB cable to the device's USB port and the other end to a powered USB port on your computer or a USB wall adapter (not included). The battery indicator on the screen will show charging progress. A full charge provides up to 12 hours of audio playback or 2 hours of video playback.
2. Loading Music and Videos
Connect the MP3 player to your computer using the USB cable. The device will appear as a removable disk drive. Simply drag and drop your MP3 and WMA audio files, or 128x128 pixel resolution video files, into the appropriate folders on the device. Ensure video files are converted to the supported resolution using the Philips Media Converter software if necessary. Note that copyright-protected (DRM) WMA tracks purchased from online music stores are not supported.
3. Connecting Headphones
Plug the included earphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the device. For optimal audio experience, you may use your preferred high-quality headphones.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
To power on the device, press and hold the power button located on the side until the Philips logo appears on the screen. To power off, press and hold the power button until the device shuts down.
2. Navigation
Use the directional buttons (up, down, left, right) and the center 'OK' button to navigate through menus and select options on the 1.5-inch color screen. The 'Back' button (usually an arrow icon) will take you to the previous menu.
3. Playing Music and Videos
- Navigate to the 'Music' or 'Video' section from the main menu.
- Browse through your loaded files by artist, album, or title.
- Select a file and press the 'OK' button to start playback.
- Use the play/pause, skip forward/backward buttons for playback control.
- Adjust volume using the dedicated volume buttons (if present) or through the on-screen menu.
4. FM Radio
- From the main menu, select 'FM Radio'.
- Use the navigation buttons to scan for stations or select from your 20 preset stations.
- The connected earphones act as the antenna for the FM radio.
5. Voice Recording
Access the 'Voice Recorder' function from the main menu. Follow the on-screen prompts to start, pause, and save your voice recordings.
6. Equalizer Settings
While playing music, access the settings menu to find equalizer options. Choose from various presets (e.g., Rock, Pop, Jazz) or customize your own sound profile to enhance your listening experience.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the screen or casing.
2. Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures. Charge the battery regularly, even if the device is not in frequent use, to prevent deep discharge.

Troubleshooting
