Setup

1. Unpacking and Checking Contents

Verify that all components are present in the package:

2. Inserting the Battery

3. Inserting a Memory Card

Operating the Camera

1. Basic Photography

To take a picture, turn the mode dial to the desired shooting mode (e.g., Program Auto, Easy). Frame your shot using the 2.5-inch LCD monitor. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus, then press it fully to capture the image.

2. Shooting Modes

The mode dial on the back of the camera allows you to select various shooting modes:

  • EASY Mode: Simplifies camera settings for effortless shooting.

3. Zoom Function

Use the zoom lever (W/T) located near the shutter button to adjust the focal length. Push towards 'T' for telephoto (zoom in) and 'W' for wide-angle (zoom out). The camera features 4x optical zoom and up to 8x digital zoom.

  • Super Steady Shot: Optical image stabilization reduces blur caused by camera shake. This feature is automatically active.

5. Flash Modes

6. Video Recording

To record a video, turn the mode dial to the movie camera icon. Press the shutter button to start recording and press it again to stop. Videos are recorded in MP4 format at resolutions up to 640x480 at 30 frames per second.

7. Playback Mode

Press the Playback button (usually indicated by a triangle icon) to view your captured photos and videos on the LCD screen. Use the directional buttons to navigate through images and the zoom lever to zoom in on photos.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Camera

  • Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens brush to gently remove dust. For smudges, use a lens cleaning solution applied to a cloth, not directly to the lens.
  • LCD Screen: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid pressing hard.

2. Battery Care

  • Flash does not fire:

  • Cannot transfer images to computer:
