5.1 Igniting a Burner

  1. Place your cookware centrally on the pan support over the desired burner.
  2. Push down the corresponding control knob and turn it counter-clockwise to the maximum flame setting (large flame symbol).
  3. Hold the knob down for a few seconds to allow the flame failure device to activate. You should hear a clicking sound as the igniter sparks.
  4. Once the flame is lit, release the knob. If the flame goes out, repeat the process, holding the knob down for a slightly longer period.

5.2 Adjusting the Flame

  • To increase the flame, turn the knob further counter-clockwise towards the large flame symbol.
  • To decrease the flame, turn the knob clockwise towards the small flame symbol.
  • To turn off the burner, turn the knob clockwise until it clicks into the 'off' position (dot symbol).

5.3 Using Cookware

  • Use pots and pans with flat bases that are appropriate for the size of the burner.
  • Ensure the flame does not extend beyond the base of the cookware to prevent energy waste and damage to handles.
  • The central wok burner is designed for larger pans and high-heat cooking.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your hob.

6.1 Cleaning the Hob Surface

  • Always ensure the hob is cool before cleaning.
  • Wipe the stainless steel surface with a soft cloth and a mild detergent solution.
  • For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. Always wipe in the direction of the grain.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals as they can scratch or damage the surface.

6.2 Cleaning Burner Components and Pan Supports

  • Remove the pan supports, burner caps, and burner crowns when cool.
  • Wash these components in warm soapy water. For stubborn food residues, they can be soaked.
  • Ensure all components are thoroughly dry before reassembling them. Moisture can affect ignition.
