3. Preparation

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, and other contaminants. For best results, lightly sand smooth surfaces to provide adhesion.
  2. Environmental Conditions: Use only in a well-ventilated area. Recommended temperature for application is between 50°F (10°C) and 86°F (30°C). Avoid high humidity.
  3. Protect Surroundings: Cover adjacent areas to protect them from overspray.

4. Application (Operating)

  1. Shake Can: Shake the can vigorously for at least one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle, and occasionally during use to ensure even color and consistency.
  2. Test Spray: Before applying to your model, test spray on a scrap piece of material to check color and spray pattern.
  3. Application Distance: Hold the can approximately 10 to 12 inches (25-30 cm) from the object.
  4. Spray Technique: Apply paint in light, even mist coats using steady, sweeping strokes. Do not stop in the middle of a stroke. Overlap each stroke slightly.
  5. Multiple Coats: For desired depth of color and coverage, apply several thin coats rather than one thick coat. Allow sufficient drying time between coats (typically 10-15 minutes, depending on conditions).
  6. Drying Time: The paint is typically touch-dry within 15-30 minutes and fully cured in 24 hours.

5. Cleanup & Storage (Maintenance)

  • Clear Nozzle: After each use, invert the can and spray for a few seconds until only clear propellant comes out. This prevents the nozzle from clogging.
  • Storage: Store the can in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flames. Ensure the cap is securely placed on the can.
  • Disposal: Dispose of empty cans according to local regulations. Do not puncture or incinerate.
