Setup
Battery Installation
The AcuRite Humidity Monitor requires one AA battery (not included). To install the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert one AA battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

Placement Options
The monitor offers multiple placement options:
- Magnetic Mount: The unit has a magnetic back, allowing it to be easily attached to metal surfaces such as refrigerators or freezers.
- Kickstand: Utilize the integrated fold-out kickstand for convenient placement on any flat surface, like a desk or shelf.
- Wall Mount: A keyhole slot is provided on the back for secure wall mounting using a screw (not included).

Operation
Reading the Display
Once powered on, the monitor will immediately begin displaying current indoor humidity and temperature. The large digits provide clear readings. The display also shows daily high and low records for both humidity and temperature, allowing you to track fluctuations over a 24-hour period.

Switching Temperature Units
To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) temperature readings, locate the small button inside the battery compartment. Press this button once to toggle between the two units.

Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the unit, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals that may damage the display or casing.
Battery Replacement
When the display dims or readings become inconsistent, it is time to replace the AA battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section.
Troubleshooting
- No Display/Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the AA battery is correctly installed with proper polarity. Replace the battery if it is old or depleted.
- Inconsistent Readings: Avoid placing the monitor in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in areas with extreme drafts, as these can affect accuracy. Allow the unit to stabilize for at least 20 minutes after initial setup or relocation.
- Humidity Level Icon Not Changing: The humidity level icon (high, OK, low) updates based on a predefined range. Ensure the ambient humidity is within the thresholds for the icon to change.
