Setup

1. Charging the Battery

  1. Insert the supplied rechargeable battery into the battery charger.
  2. Plug the charger into a wall outlet. The charging indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Charging is complete when the indicator light turns off. A full charge typically takes approximately 2-3 hours.

2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Card

Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera.

  1. Insert the charged battery into the battery compartment with the correct orientation, ensuring it clicks into place.
  2. Insert a Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo media card into the memory card slot until it clicks. The camera also has 15 MB of internal memory for limited storage.
  3. Close the battery/memory card cover securely.

3. Initial Power On and Date/Time Settings

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the camera.
  2. If this is the first time using the camera or after the battery has been removed for an extended period, the date and time setting screen will appear.
  3. Use the control buttons to set the correct date, time, and time zone. Press the MENU or OK button to confirm.

Operating the Camera

1. Basic Photography (Auto Mode)

For simple point-and-shoot operation, use the Auto mode.

  1. Turn the mode dial to AUTO.
  2. Frame your subject using the 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD display or the optical viewfinder.
