Maxima Coolanol 50/50 Blend Treatment User Manual

Model: 82964

1. Introduction

The Maxima Coolanol 50/50 Blend Treatment is a high-performance, ready-to-use coolant designed for optimal engine temperature control and protection. This product is specifically formulated for all aluminum and magnesium motorcycle and ATV liquid-cooled engines.

It is a pre-mixed solution of premium quality ethylene glycol-based antifreeze and deionized water, ensuring convenience and consistent performance without the need for dilution. Coolanol also incorporates anti-foam agents to minimize water pump cavitation and enhance overall cooling efficiency.

2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when handling automotive fluids.

3. Setup and Preparation

Before adding Maxima Coolanol, ensure your engine is completely cool to prevent burns and system damage.

  1. Drain Existing Coolant: Carefully drain the old coolant from your vehicle's cooling system according to your vehicle manufacturer's instructions. Ensure proper disposal of the old coolant.
  2. Flush System (Optional but Recommended): For best results, flush the cooling system with distilled water or a suitable cooling system flush product to remove any residual contaminants. Follow the flush product's instructions carefully.
  3. Inspect System: Check all hoses, clamps, and the radiator for any signs of leaks or damage. Repair or replace as necessary before adding new coolant.
  4. No Dilution Required: Maxima Coolanol is a 50/50 blend and is ready-to-use. DO NOT ADD WATER, as this will dilute the protective properties and alter the freeze/boiling points.

4. Operating Instructions (Application)

Follow these steps to properly fill your cooling system with Maxima Coolanol:

  1. Locate Radiator Cap: With the engine cool, carefully remove the radiator cap.
  2. Fill Radiator: Slowly pour Maxima Coolanol directly into the radiator filler neck until it reaches the recommended fill line or is full.
  3. Fill Overflow Reservoir: Fill the coolant overflow reservoir to the "cold fill" line.
  4. Bleed Air from System:
    • Start the engine and let it run with the radiator cap off (or slightly loose if your vehicle requires it for bleeding) until it reaches operating temperature. This allows the thermostat to open and coolant to circulate.
    • As the engine warms, air bubbles will rise to the surface. Top off the radiator with more Maxima Coolanol as needed to maintain the fill level.
    • Once the engine is at operating temperature and no more large air bubbles are visible, replace the radiator cap securely.
    • Allow the engine to cool completely. Check the coolant level in the overflow reservoir and top off if necessary.
  5. Compatibility: Maxima Coolanol safely mixes with most OEM glycol-based anti-freeze/coolants. However, for optimal performance and protection, a full system flush and fill with Maxima Coolanol is recommended.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance of your cooling system is crucial for engine longevity.

6. Troubleshooting

If you experience cooling system issues after using Maxima Coolanol, consider the following:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Engine Overheating
  • Low coolant level
  • Air trapped in system
  • Faulty thermostat
  • Clogged radiator or hoses
  • Malfunctioning cooling fan
  • Check and top off coolant.
  • Bleed air from the system (refer to Section 4).
  • Inspect and replace thermostat if necessary.
  • Inspect and clean/replace radiator and hoses.
  • Check fan operation and fuse.
Coolant Leaks
  • Loose hose clamps
  • Damaged hoses or radiator
  • Faulty water pump seal
  • Cracked engine block/head gasket
  • Tighten clamps.
  • Inspect and replace damaged components.
  • Consult a professional mechanic.
Coolant Discoloration
  • Contamination from old coolant
  • Rust/corrosion in system
  • Thoroughly flush and refill the system.
  • Inspect for internal system damage.

If issues persist after attempting these solutions, it is recommended to consult a qualified mechanic.
