Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Camera: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens, use a lens brush or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not expose them to extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if the camera will not be used for an extended period.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the camera in a protective case to prevent scratches and dust accumulation. Avoid storing in humid or dusty environments.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera does not power on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted.
  • Images are blurry: Check focus settings. Ensure sufficient lighting. Use Electronic VR image stabilization. For moving subjects, use a faster shutter speed or appropriate scene mode.
  • "Lens Error" message: This may indicate an obstruction or malfunction with the lens mechanism. Power the camera off and on again. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
  • Slow shutter/recovery time: This is a characteristic of some compact digital cameras. For faster shooting, ensure sufficient light and avoid complex scene modes that require more processing.
  • Red-eye in photos: Use the Red-Eye Reduction flash mode or apply the In-Camera Red-Eye Fix feature during playback.
  • Battery compartment feels loose: While the design may allow for slight movement, ensure it is securely latched to prevent dust or moisture ingress. A protective case is recommended.
