1.1 Package Contents

1.2 Battery Installation

The Coolpix L18 uses two AA-size batteries. Ensure correct polarity when inserting.

  1. Open the battery chamber cover located on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert two AA batteries, matching the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery chamber cover securely.

1.3 Memory Card Insertion

The camera supports SD/SDHC memory cards (not included). A memory card is required to store photos and videos.

  1. Open the memory card slot cover, usually located near the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the SD card with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
  3. Close the memory card slot cover securely.

1.4 Initial Power On and Date/Time Setting

  1. Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera.
  2. The LCD monitor will turn on. If this is the first time powering on, you may be prompted to set the date and time.

2. Operating the Camera

2.1 Basic Shooting Modes

The Coolpix L18 offers various modes for different shooting situations.

  • Easy Auto Mode: For simple point-and-shoot operation. The camera automatically optimizes settings.

The built-in flash operates automatically in most modes. You can adjust flash settings via the menu for specific situations.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning the Camera

  • Lens: Use a lens brush to remove dust, then gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth. Avoid touching the lens surface with your fingers.
