Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your post light fixture. Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before proceeding.
- Prepare the Post: Ensure your existing outdoor post is securely installed and has a standard 3-inch diameter. The electrical wiring should extend from the top of the post.
- Mount the Fixture: Carefully place the base of the post light fixture over the top of the 3-inch diameter post. The fixture should slide down securely.
- Wiring Connections:
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from your electrical supply using a UL-listed wire connector.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from your electrical supply using a UL-listed wire connector.
- Connect the ground wire (bare copper or green) from the fixture to the ground wire from your electrical supply. If no ground wire is present in the supply, consult a qualified electrician.
- Secure all wire connections with electrical tape.
- Secure the Fixture: Once wiring is complete and connections are secure, gently push the wires into the post. Secure the fixture to the post using any provided screws or mounting hardware.
- Install Light Bulbs: Insert three (3) candelabra base (E12) light bulbs, each with a maximum wattage of 40 watts, into the sockets. Do not exceed the maximum wattage.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the main fuse or circuit breaker box. Test the light fixture.
